1. The Problem

Preventive maintenance in most plants lives in one person head and a wall chart. It works while that person is there and the plant is quiet. It stops working when they are on leave, when a new machine arrives, or when a busy month means the service gets pushed and then forgotten. Nobody decides to skip a service; it simply does not come round.

So machines fail without warning. The breakdown is reported by phone, the fitter arrives without knowing what was done last time, and the same bearing fails again four months later because nobody connected the two events. The maintenance budget is spent reactively, and when you ask for capital to replace an ageing machine there is no history to justify it.

2. How ASTITVAAMS Handles It
